Gower Restaurants...

While Gower may not have the range of food that nearby Swansea has, it does have its fair share of culinary delights, from the swanky Fairy Hill to the pleasures of a pub meal.

For more information about Gower food, try visiting local restaurant and food guide Food Passion!

You will also find some of the establishments listed here also listed in the Gower Pubs and Gower Accommodation sections of our website.

The Welcome

The Welcome to Town is, strangely, not located in a town but in the heart of the Llanrhidian village. The Chef of the Welcome, Ian Bennet, has worked in some of the most prestigious restaurants in the UK and France. Like other restaurants in Gower, this bistro uses local ingredients as much as possible, including locally grown asparagus, cheeses from Swansea Market and Welsh Black Beef. Check out the excellent selection of wines, and look out for very good value lunchtime offers.

Location: If coming from Bryngwyn, head into Llanrhidian past the petrol station and take a right down a steep hill. You will find the restaurant on your right.

The Greyhound Inn

As well as being a great place to drink, the Greyhound also offers a great selection of food - and a place where you can enjoy locally reared salt marsh lamb, as well as freshly caught bass when the season is right. Well known for very large portions! You can enjoy bar meals throughout the week from 12 - 9 pm Monday to Friday and from 3pm - 9 pm on Sundays, as well as a superb roast on Sundays (make sure you are hungry) from 12.30 - 3.00. Booking is advised for the very popular roast meal.

Location: Very easy to find! Just drive straight through Llanrhidian away from the garage and you will find it located at the end of the village.

Fairy Hill

Probably the most famous restaurant in Wales, set in beautiful grounds and with country house atmosphere Fairy Hill is known for its use of fresh local food, including locally picked cockles and marsh grass - and for the occassional guest who lands by helicopter.

Location: Drive through Llanrhidian in the direction of Llangenith. At Oldwalls keep left and continue for a mile or so. At the bottom of a steep hill turn left into a narrow lane (drive carefully). Follow the lane along and you wil find Fairy Hill on your left.
